Tim Pears was born in 1965. He grew up in Crewe and Devon, and left school at sixteen. He has worked in a wide variety of jobs and is a graduate of the National Film and Television School. He is the author of three novels: In the Place of Fallen Leaves (winner of the Hawthornden Prize for literature and the Ruth Hadden Award), In a Land of Plenty (which was adapted into a major BBC TV series in 2001) and A Revolution of the Sun. Tim Pears lives in Oxford with his wife and children.
