Bridget van der Zijpp

After a successful 10-year career in the radio industry in New Zealand, Bridget van der Zijpp completed a Masters in Creative Writing at the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University (Wellington, NZ) in 2004.

Her first novel, Misconduct, was published in New Zealand in 2008 (Victoria University Press). It was included in the New Zealand Listener’s Best Books of 2008, and more recently was short-listed for Best First Book for the Commonwealth Writers Prize in the South East Asia and Pacific region.

While working on Misconduct she also worked for periods on major New Zealand festivals including the Wellington International Jazz Festival, the International Festival of the Arts and Cuba St Carnival (NZ’s biggest street festival), and is on the board of the Wellington Regional Arts and Cultural Development Trust. She is currently at work on her second novel.
