Geoff Dyer is the author of four novels: Paris Trance, The Search, The Colour of Memory and most recently Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi. He has also produced a critical study of John Berger (Ways of Telling ), five genre-defying titles (But Beautiful, The Missing of the Somme, Out of Sheer Rage, Yoga For People Who Can't Be Bothered to Do It, The Ongoing Moment ) and a collection of essays and reviews (Anglo-English Attitudes ). He lives in London.

He is the recipient of the 2006 EM Forster Award, and has won the ICP Infinity Award for Writing on Photography (2006) for The Ongoing Moment, a Somerset Maugham Award for But Beautiful, was a finalist for a National Book Critics Circle Award with Out of Sheer Rage, and won WH Smith Best Travel Book of the Year for Yoga For People Who Can't Be Bothered to Do It .
