John Sutherland

John Sutherland is Lord Northcliffe Professor of Modern English Literature at University College London and a visiting professor of literature at the California Institute of Technology. Professor Sutherland is the author of many works of literary criticism, biography and publishing history. A notably versatile man of letters, he is one of Britain's best-known literary reviewers and writes a weekly column in The Guardian.
