The Nick of Time is the story of an illegal immigrant from Egypt, Ahmad, living in London. Ahmad lives a double life, staying with an elderly woman with MS while throwing himself into the London gay scene. Conflicts arise when he develops a relationship with a man and he is arrested for his illegal status. The Nick of Time was been long-listed for the 2003 Booker Prize.
